In the context of the Breast Cancer Awareness Month that runs this October, The Estée Lauder Companies’ Breast Cancer Campaign illuminated the Grand-Place in Brussels. The Illumination was part of a series of illuminations all around the world: buildings, monuments and landmarks will be illuminated in glowing pink lights to raise awareness of breast health - including the Empire State Building, the Eiffel tower...
The Estée Lauder Companies Benelux and Leuven Cancer Institute
On a local level, The Estée Lauder Companies Benelux continues its partnership with the Leuven Cancer Institute to support (breast) cancer patients in their battle against the disease and improve their quality-of-life. Isabelle De Cock, General Manager of The Estée Lauder Companies Benelux, handed over a donation of €120.000 to the Leuven Cancer Institute. 'The Breast Cancer Campaign leverages the best of what we do as a Company to positively impact people and communities around the world.Through the unwavering support of our employees, partners and consumers we can sustain investment in education and research.' states Isabelle De Cock.
This donation will be used by The Leuven Cancer Institute to alleviate debilitating side effects of (breast) cancer treatment. Breast cancer treatments and cancer treatments in general are associated with visible side effects such as hair loss, nail changes and skin changes. The Estée Lauder Companies Benelux and the Leuven Cancer Institute join hands to further research and advance the prevention of hair loss and nail changes in patients with cancer. 'The Leuven Cancer Institute is very pleased to find in the Estée Lauder Companies such a motivated partner to fight the esthetical, mental and social impact of cancer', as states Griet Van der Perre, Fundraiser and Communications Officer at the Leuven Cancer Institute.
